Get started

Most people start off with myguide - a really easy way to begin on the internet - making it simple to search the internet and set up an email account. You'll have a password and to make things easier you can choose to have instructions read aloud to you as well as reading them on screen.

We also have 19 short courses (30 minutes each) avaialble on www.myguide.gov.uk that you can use free of charge to help get you started online. Our courses cater for people of all levels and cover subjects including:

  • Starting with computers
  • Using email
  • Using a computer
  • Using online searches
  • Understanding your home computer
  • Understanding socialising online

As well as using myguide at a UK online centre, you can also access it by yourself at www.myguide.gov.uk.
