The internet and informal learning
This research, commissioned by UK online centres from research agency ICM, presents the new face of informal adult learning, which has been revolutionised by the new tools available to help people learn more and discover more online. It also brings together the existing statistics on informal learning, and discusses the need for us to find a new definition of adult learning based on these new findings.
Between 14 September 2011 and 30 April 2012, UK online centres worked collaboratively with Sheffield City Council, Jobcentre Plus, Citizens Advice and The Pensions Service on an innovative project in Sheffield to increase awareness of the benefits of using online public services.
