Who we are

UK online centres have thousands of centres across England that provide people with free, or low cost, help and support to start using computers and the internet. Centres are situated in most local communities, in libraries, community centres and even on the high street.

Pass IT on

UK online centres launched Pass IT on as a way of helping people who are already online to convince someone they know to get online too.

For most of us being online is part of our daily lives, saving us time, hassle and money. However, one in three adults in England still aren’t online and don’t know where to turn to get started. If this sounds like someone you know and you’d like to help them, Pass IT on gives you a hassle-free way of supporting a loved one to get online. All you need to do is pass on details about UK online centres and myguide.

This year we're working in partnership with Race Online 2012. Race Online 2012 is a nationwide effort spearheaded by Martha Lane Fox, Champion for Digital Inclusion, and aims to get 3 million new people online by 2012.

Many of us take access to digital technologies for granted. But 17 million people across the country are currently offline, and 6 million of this group are also the most socially and economically disadvantaged. Race Online 2012 aims to halve the number of the most disadvantaged people in Britain who currently don't enjoy all the opportunities offered by the net.
